Hey! The Trouts are calling at Taneycomo! They are finally getting lake levels closer to “normal” in in the Midwest Area and allowing some wading time! Its been a long time coming! I was able to catch a weekend there a few weeks ago! Those Trout have gained some size with the long spell of high discharge from the tail waters of those lakes!! Table Rock Lake is building up to a “roll over” which brings a shad kill! The Glut of big Trout feeding!
I’m feeling the cold of a long winter coming on but that’s the least of my worry for Trout fishing tail waters of Missouri and Arkansas!
And by the way, I about fell over with the news that you hooked a real keeper! Married, I hear?
Give me a yell! We’ll have to get back together! By the way, my schedule and the lower gas prices should allow me to travel for tying shows! I’m working up the courage to get going on that again!

Well, On my way back home today. Checked out the river and did cast a few lines, but no hook-ups to tell about. There were lots of dead/dying Chinook in the river; I tried drifting egg patterns in the runs behind the salmon but didn’t hook into any Steelhead. Oh well, still a great way to spend the day, especially when I should be at work.

I’m in Sault St. Marie this weekend and will be trying out the Rapids tomorrow. It’s pretty cold here so we’ll see how long I last out there. Took a walk down by the river today and only saw two people crazy enough to go out in the water. At this point I’m not sure if that’s a sign that people are out Deer Hunting or if it’s a sign that the fishing is poor. I guess I’ll find out.
